About Us
Why us? Yoga is a long and winding journey, and although it's built around a focus on the self, the purpose is to release us from the self. We all struggle, we all fall down. Our aches, pains, distractions and obsessions, are what makes us human. Embrace the grind, surrender to the process, and don't take yourself too seriously! Us, because we're all in this together! Huat Ah!
I started yoga 5 years ago to help heal a lower back damaged through years of wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA, and a mind very much in chaos due to the stress of the corporate environment. I originally went to hot, moved towards Hatha and Vinyasa Flow, eventually discovering Ashtanga at Tirisula Yoga in Singapore. The sense of discipline instilled through a daily practice that is both physically and spiritually demanding was a revelation.
Unlike a lot of teachers who focus on a light, flexibility based asana practice, I believe that yoga is strength, endurance, and flexibility in equal measures. Classes with me are strong, challenging and fun, with lot's of laughing, falling down, getting back up and trying again. Who said there's no laughing in yoga?
